The Family Support team is made up of a highly skilled and dedicated team of family Support Workers and a Parent & Family Co-ordinator. The primary role of the team is to ensure that the services we provide are tailored to meet the needs of children and their families.
As well as providing home visits and working with ante-natal women, we provide support for families with children with special/additional needs. This means the team can offer different ways for parents/carers to be involved with Sure Start.
Outreach in the community, home visiting and drop-ins can provide a gateway to other services offering specialist family support.
Through the course of their work the Family Support Team promote key health messages to families, ensuring that Sure Start can be a force to make a real difference in the lives of children in terms of their social and emotional development, their physical health and wellbeing, their language skills and in the confidence and skills of parents.
