What We Do

We recognise the importance of supporting every child to reach their potential and know that all children have different experiences and develop at different rates. Our approach allows children to be curious, follow their interests, and build upon ideas at their own pace.

Our 'home from home' environments are warm, nurturing and encourage curiosity, awe and wonder. Our spaces are calm, tranquil and provide children with lots of play and learning opportunities.

We recognises that parents/ carers are the most important people in their child's life. They are their first teachers. We work alongside families to support children both at home and in our settings. Every adult that is present in a child's early years has the potential to achieve the best outcomes for children.

Developmental Programme for 2-3 Year Olds

• This is for children who would benefit from support the year before nursery (children should be in their pre-nursery year).
• The programme operates for 2.5 hours per day, Monday - Thursday with a monthly 'Stay and Play'. We value parents role which is why a partnership with parents is a large part of the programmes for parents/ carers to attend. Home visits are also part of the programme.
• Applications are released in February for the September intake.
• Programme locations: East Belfast Network Centre (Templemore Avenue x 2 programmes), Carew Family Centre (Tamar Street), Ballyoran Unit (Rosneath Gardens, Ballybeen).

Child Development Sessions

• These are for families who are connected with the East Belfast Sure Start Family Team.
• Children are allocated 2 x 2 hour sessions per week in one of our early years settings.
• Sessions provide the opportunity for early years practitioners, the Family Team and parents/ carers to work together.
• These sessions also include parent and child together sessions on a monthly basis
